When considering a stun gun, there are many items to factor. First off is safety. The safety we are talking about is a safety pin in the event that the stun gun is taken from you. This safey pin has a lanyard that is fastened around your wrist, and when the stun gun is taken from you, the pin is pulled from the stun gun leaving is useless. This way the stun gun cannot be taken and used against yourself.

Another factor to consider is an internal rechargeable battery. Some models will run on 9V batteries and some have internal rechargeable batteries. The rechargeable aspect is nice and will usually provide a longer battery life than the alkaline 9V battery.
